BikeRadar Live is go!

Bigger than Ben Hur. Really!

BikeRadar Live is finally here! And it's bigger than even we imagined. That means seriously huge on a Cecil B. De Mille scale, so make sure you check it out at Donington Park this weekend.

The BikeRadar crew landed here mid-afternoon and we've had a chance to have a good look around the site. Words do not do it justice, so we've taken some shots too.

Once you get into the park, the big red top is easy to spot. That's where the films will be shown this evening and where you can meet the stars over the weekend. The bikes and gear expo is being set up all around, and you can bet there'll be plenty of new kit to ogle at.

Also next to the big top, we saw the Animal Relentless Bike Tour getting their kit together. With Sam Pilgrim, Martyn Ashton and guest rider Danny MacAskill, among others, this is sure to be one of the most popular attractions of the show.

Inside the big top

Chain Reaction Cycles are all set

Graeme Obree at the registration tent

We wandered up to the white registration tent where participants in tomorrow's Cycling Plus Sportive presented by Pacific Outdoor Equipment in association with the Geoff Thomas Foundation are already signing on. While we were there, we spotted hour record legend Graeme Obree and his amazing bike. More of that in a separate story coming soon.

Chris Smith practising on the dirt jump

Next up, we cruised over to the dirt jump where many of the riders in the MBUK Dirt Jump Invitational were practising their moves. Most agreed it was a tough course - stay tuned for a full story and video.

The dual slalom course is on the other side of the main enclosure, and that promises to host a great competition. We spotted the Athertons checking into their hotel - will they be the ones to take away the grand prize?

Then it was down to the road circuit, which will host the start of the sportive and Dahon Folding Bike Championship of the Universe on Saturday, the Devil Takes the Hindmost circuit race on Sunday, the Procycling Hot Laps over two days and the road bike demo rides.

The 5km Whyte Night Enduro course loops around the Donington circuit and should provide a great challenge for the riders taking part on Saturday evening. Charge those lights!

The weather is brilliant so get yourself to Donington Park as soon as you can, because the action is about to kick off.
