We first saw Fizik's new Cyrano seatpost earlier this year, and now we’ve got one in the office ready to test.

Famous for their saddles, the company have branched out and made this two-bolt, 3D-forged alloy post which will cost you £89.99/€110/US$125.

One bolt holds the saddle firmly in place – and it doesn't have to be fully removed when swapping saddles, which speeds the process up – while the second is fitted with a thumbwheel that lets you easily adjust the angle.

Our 31.6mm-diameter test sample is 330mm long and weighs in at 246g. It comes with a neat rubber sleeve that fits on top of your seat collar to keep out the grime.

microSHIFT

MicroSHIFT produce Shimano-compatible mountain bike and road groupsets at a competitive price. UK distributors Upgrade Bikes have been testing the products extensively, and the kit has been ridden by national cyclo-cross and mountain bike title holders Roy Hunt and Mick Ives.

Upgrade’s Tom Marchment says: “We thought that if riders with as much experience as they have are impressed, then it must be good."

As an example, the alloy 10-speed road (double) shifters cost £149.99, with a compatible alloy rear mech at £39.99 and double front mech at £29.99. The white set below comes in at £184.99 (shifters), £54.99 (rear mech) and £29.99 (front mech).

A carbon set is also available for just under £300 – Marchment says: "The Carbon microSHIFT group is 10-speed, lightweight due to carbon levers and rear-mech body, and costs less than the main competitors' entry-level alloy options.”

We’ll be testing the road and mountain bike groupsets from microSHIFT soon, so keep an eye on BikeRadar.
