Well made and with a good beam, but looking a little underpowered

A one-time best buy, the Single Shot is still a decent commuter light, but up against some of the newer entries in an ever-changing market it’s now looking a little underpowered.

It comes with a charger and an internal NiMH battery but we were disappointed by the run time on the 1-watt full beam.

It’s a solid bit of kit and we like the horizontal beam and peripheral illumination, but the similarly priced RSP Asteri 3 is brighter and has a longer run time in a neater package, and it’s severely outshone by the Light & Motion Vega. It's still bright enough for unlit roads, though.
