Aerodynamic optimisation has become big business in the road cycling industry, as pros and amateurs alike look to reduce their drag and go faster for the same effort.
Most modern bikes will feature at least some aerodynamic flourishes, while at the pointy end they go all-in with CFD analysis and wind-tunnel validation in the pursuit of all-out speed.
It’s also possible to spend thousands on wheelsets, components and accessories when chasing watt savings.
But as with most aspects of road cycling, the biggest source of aerodynamic drag is the rider sitting in the saddle – after all, owning Filippo Ganna’s Pinarello Bolide TT bike doesn’t instantly transform you into the hour-record-holding Italian.
That’s why refining your position and thinking about aero-optimised clothing can make a bigger difference than the latest trend-chasing upgrade.
Gobik’s new Supersonica collection takes the Spanish manufacturer’s premium approach to cycling kit and sets a new benchmark in performance apparel.
From pro-led development to wind-tunnel verification, here’s how the new range is designed to make you faster.
1. It’s Gobik’s most advanced aero clothing

Founded in Yecla, Murcia, in southeastern Spain in 2010, Gobik has quickly risen to the heights of the WorldTour and Women’s WorldTour.
Today, Gobik supplies kit to Netcompany Ineos, FDJ United-Suez and the men’s and women’s Movistar teams. At the sharp end of professional cycling, teams need their riders to be decked out in clothing that gives them the edge.
The Supersonica collection takes this up a notch and is Gobik’s most advanced aero clothing yet.
With a full collection of clothing in the range, each garment has been extensively analysed and tested to ensure it provides the wearer with the maximum advantage possible, while retaining the breathability and comfort required when competing in the heat of the moment.
2. Developed with the pros

Gobik developed the Supersonica range with the help of its sponsored teams and riders, including two-time time trial world champion Ganna.
Rider input has helped to shape the collection at all stages – from initial ideas to extensive real-world testing in the most demanding racing environments – and the pro-level insight means the range is designed to maximise efficiency in high-speed conditions.
Demi Vollering also wore Gobik’s Supersonica kit during the 2026 Tour de France Femmes, with the Dutch star winning the race for the second time.
3. It’s been CFD and wind-tunnel tested

The approval of the world's best riders is one thing, but Gobik wanted to ensure the Supersonica range stood up under the microscope (or, in this case, in the wind tunnel).
The garments underwent more than 30 test sessions at the UK’s Silverstone wind tunnel – the gold standard test centre for cycling.
Each session led to further refinement, while the tests were also varied based on bike choice, speed ranges, real (rather than fixed) pedalling positions and a wide range of yaw angles (essentially the angle at which the wind meets the rider, simulating real-world conditions where crosswinds are a fact of life).
The result is a range of kit designed to perform consistently across an array of conditions – meaning your performance isn’t reliant on a ‘just right’ wind direction.
4. It’ll make you faster

This focus on yaw angles and speed ranges means you don’t have to be riding in excess of 50kph to see the Supersonica’s benefits.
Gobik’s testing revealed that combining the Mach TT with the Boundary baselayer helps save between 15 and 18 watts at high speed compared to the brand’s previous time trial suit, while the Stratos road suit improves aerodynamic efficiency by up to 10% compared to the Madison model it replaces.
Gobik’s engineers also noted that the suit reduces air resistance and maintains stable behaviour even in a crosswind.
The gains aren't limited to the top-of-the-range speed suits, either. The Drag overshoes alone are shown to deliver a saving of between five and eight watts, according to Gobik, by reducing the turbulence generated in the foot and ankle area.
5. There’s a full collection of kit to choose from

The Supersonica range was released in July ahead of the Tour de France and provides a complete ecosystem of aerodynamically optimised kit.
Gobik Mach Long-Sleeve TT Suit
The Mach Long-Sleeve TT Suit uses an ultra-light fabric to ensure high breathability without sacrificing the structural stability required of an aero suit, while each panel of material has been optimised to reduce frontal drag and improve how the suit acts in a crosswind.
Gobik Stratos Short-Sleeve Road Suit
For all other types of racing, the Stratos Short-Sleeve Road Suit ups the comfort even more, but still has some aero tricks up its sleeves (and shoulders). Three-dimensional fabric is positioned in key areas to generate controlled micro-turbulences, which help reduce low-pressure wake by keeping the airflow attached to the body for longer.
Gobik Boundary Base Layer
Both suits can be paired with the Boundary Base Layer, which can be worn under any road suit or smooth-surface jersey to form a double-layer aerodynamic system. It too features sleeves with a 3D structure that are intended to alter the behaviour of airflow to reduce the drag of the whole kit system.
Gobik Drag Overshoes
The Drag Overshoes feature 3D-structured fabric on the inside of the upper and a smooth finish on the outside to stabilise airflow around the leg. Meanwhile, the lower half uses a PU-coated fabric to smooth off the sharp edges of any shoe closures, dials and vents.
Gobik Kinetic Gloves
The watt savings extend to your fingers, courtesy of the Kinetic Gloves. The backs of the gloves use the same 3D fabric found on the Stratos suit to optimise a rider’s first point of contact with the wind. The palm is all about comfort, featuring an ultra-light, breathable fabric with silicone threads to guarantee grip.
Gobik Pinkie Socks
The final piece in the Supersonica puzzle is the Pinkie socks. Designed to be paired with the Drag overshoes, they avoid fabric overlaps to remove any risk of unintended air turbulence. But they can be worn in their own right and are designed to offer high levels of breathability, an asymmetric anatomical fit and a seamless toe box to eliminate chafing.
