We’re delighted to find that Wiggle has knocked 33 per cent off the asking price of the Fenix SLA in the second week of its Black Friday sale. Selle Italia Novus Boost Superflow Saddle –
This short saddle from Selle Italia has dropped an almighty 55 per cent in price in the Wiggle sale. In fact, it was in that review that we recommended readers seek out a cheaper model from the Novus range – well, here it is for £74.99.
Shimano Dura Ace Di2 R9150 Shadow Rear Derailleur –
Wiggle has taken a substantial £140 off the price of this derailleur from industry-leading Shimano. You can find out more about Shimano’s wider groupset in our Shimano Dura-Ace R9100 and R9150 Di2 groupsets explainer, but to summarise: the R9150 derailleur is more compact than previous models and showcases the brand’s Shimano technology, which keeps the derailleur tucked out of the way.
A 25 per cent Black Friday discount has brought the price of this groupset down to just £409.99.
Föhn Merino Long Sleeve Baselayer –

Wiggle has dazzled us just a little with this 47 per cent discount, bringing the price tumbling down from £215 to £118.25. The retailer has discounted other North Face items ahead of Black Friday, including rucksacks, fleeces and T-shirts.
When is Black Friday 2020?
This year, Black Friday falls on 27 November, and is followed by Cyber Monday on 30 November.
However, many retailers, including Wiggle, have launched Black Friday deals throughout November.
Furthermore, 2020 is a strange year for sales due to the ongoing Covid pandemic. With certain parts of the UK in lockdown, and non-essential stores closed for business (bike shops remain open), we believe that online shopping will define Black Friday this year. With a close eye on online sales, retailers will tweak their prices more reactively than ever before.
Here are some pointers to help you find the best deals.
How good are the Wiggle Black Friday deals?
As you can see above, we’ve been hugely impressed by the discounts that Wiggle has already rolled out as part of its ‘Brighter Black Friday’ sale, which runs until 1 December, the day after Cyber Monday.
By launching a pre-emptive sale at the beginning of November, the retailer seems to be using exactly the same strategy as it did last year.
We suggest you return to this page regularly to take a look at the latest deals as we update it.
How to get a good deal on Black Friday
- Spend a little time doing research. Read a few online reviews; scroll down to see what other buyers have to say.
- Do you know what you actually want to buy? Don’t rely on inspiration alone during Black Friday – not when every last retailer is trying to convince you that you’ve just found the deal of the century. Enter the fray armed with a wishlist.
- Don’t take price percentage drops at face value: they’re typically set against RRPs that might be months or even years old. We track the price histories of products on sale, so with us you’ll know whether you’re getting a genuinely good deal or not.
- Retailers love labelling items as ‘low in stock’, as of course this is further incentive for you to buy. Our advice is this: add the product to your shopping basket, and then take a look at the prices on other sites before you head to the checkout. You normally get at least a couple of minutes’ grace before the item leaves your basket.
Should I wait for Cyber Monday?
Much like its name, the concept surrounding Cyber Monday is a little antiquated now. Traditionally it was positioned as the online-only follow-up to the in-store deals of Black Friday itself. Of course, more and more people now are fluent in online shopping, and you’ll rarely find sales exclusively in shops any longer – it’s much more likely to be vica versa.
Thanks to the pandemic, the distinction between Black Friday and Cyber Monday should dissolve altogether this year. Ultimately, we expect those two days to bookend an intensive four-day period of deals, discounts, and giveaways – with very little let-up over the weekend.
