Looking for a challenge this summer? Why not step things up a level and sign up for this year’s Rat Race Road Trip, an epic 440-mile (708km) ride from London to Edinburgh.
The Road Trip will be held between 8 and 11 August and will be split into four stages between central London and Murrayfield in Edinburgh. The event allows riders to compete either as singles or pairs in Challenger and Expert classes depending on how fast they want to travel along the fully waymarked route through some of the UK's most beautiful countryside.
If you compete in the Expert class, you'll be taking on the 440-mile route in just two days, which must surely be one of the toughest weekends in UK cycling!
Luckily, the event has full logistical support, including bag transfer between stages, and the pit stops, where riders camp each night, will be well-serviced with changing facilities, bike parking plus the all-important food stalls and even a beer tent to aid recovery! And while this isn't a circular route, London is easy to get to for the start of the Road Trip, and Edinburgh is easy to get home from at the end of this cycling journey.
BikeRadar has teamed up with event organisers Rat Race to offer a 15 percent discount off the entry price. To secure your 15 percent discount on the Road Trip, visit the event website armed with voucher code BRRT15. The discount code is valid right up until the event.
The event complements Rat Race's multi-day mountain bike event, The Crossing – a 190-mile ride from the Cumbrian coast to Scarborough.
