The 2024 UCI Road Cycling World Championships take place in Rwanda from 21 to 28 September, with courses for the road racing and time trials around Kigali.
It's the first time the African continent has hosted the UCI Road World Championships, with the nation already well known for the Tour du Rwanda multi-day stage race.
As in previous years, the UCI Gravel World Championships take place on a separate date and location. They won’t be held until 11 and 12 October and will take place in the Zuid-Limburg region of the Netherlands.
How to watch the 2025 Road World Championships – main event schedule

The racing starts with the women's and men's elite time trials, both taking place on Sunday, 21 September.
This year, there are 13 events, including road races and time trials in the men’s and women’s categories across Elite, U23, and Junior age groups. With an additional Team Time Trial Mixed Relay.
The final event is the men's elite road race, which takes place on Sunday, 28 September. It starts in Kigali and takes in 5,475m of elevation over the 267.5km course.

In the UK, the BBC will be showing selected events live and on-demand on BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport website, with timings to be confirmed.
