Ben Healy has received a custom bike in honour of his yellow jersey success at this year's Tour de France.

The EF Education–EasyPost rider will use the yellow Cannondale SuperSix Evo Lab71 bike on today’s stage 11 after he leapfrogged Tadej Pogačar in the general classification.

Healy climbed the general classification at this year’s race after a blistering breakaway attack and won on stage 6, where he had an average power of 317W.

Then, on Monday, he survived another day in the breakaway to become the first Irishman to wear the yellow jersey since Stephen Roche in 1987.

As has become common at the Tour de France, wearers of the leader’s jersey are blessed with a yellow bike, which Healy is understandably pleased about.

“What can I say? I'm just super happy that I've got it. It was a quick turnaround from Cannondale. It is special – full yellow. What more could I want? It is a once in a lifetime opportunity to wear the yellow jersey, so you have got to go all out if you can,” said Healy.

As with Mathieu van der Poel’s yellow Canyon Aeroad, Healy’s new bike is set up practically the same as his usual race bike.

The frame uses Cannondale’s Series 0 carbon fibre to keep the weight as low as possible, while the tube shapes are refined for aerodynamics.

Healy has the one-piece SystemBar R-One cockpit, which Cannondale designed with motorsports company Momodesign.

The Shimano Dura-Ace shifters are turned inwards so Healy can assume his characteristic aero position.

The bar is wrapped in Fizik Solocush bar tape, which Healy is said to prefer for its comfy grip.

Healy continues to run the new hand-built Vision Metron 60 RS wheels, which have a 23mm internal rim width for improved aerodynamics and reduced rolling resistance.

These wheels are wrapped in 30mm Vittoria Corsa Pro tyres with the Italian brand’s Air-Liner inserts.

His groupset is set up with the FSA Powerbox K-Force Team Edition cranks, which are 167.5mm long, following the trend for shorter cranks at this year’s races. He has 54/40-tooth chainrings and an 11-34 cassette

The bike is complete with Wahoo Speedplay Aero pedals and a yellow Wahoo Elemnt Bolt 3
