After winning stage 2 of the 2025 Tour de France, Mathieu van der Poel received arguably one of the most desirable rides going: a custom yellow bike to match the race leader’s jersey.
Having taken the top spot in the general classification from Alpecin-Deceuninck teammate Jasper Philipsen, Van der Poel is now riding a custom-painted yellow Canyon Aeroad CFR.
Canyon says it employed a unique hand-stamping effect to produce a 3D-like pattern on the frame of Van der Poel’s bike.

Otherwise, this yellow bike is not unlike his standard Canyon Aeroad CFR. It’s equipped with the same Shimano Dura-Ace C60 wheels and drivetrain, Pirelli P Zero 30c tyres and a Selle Royale saddle – even if this saddle doesn’t have van der Poel's name written on the nose.
The former world champion’s bike also has a width-adjustable aero cockpit and aero seatpost.

This isn’t the first time Van der Poel has had a custom yellow bike for the Tour de France. In 2021, the Dutchman received a yellow Aeroad after taking the general classification, after also winning stage 2 of the race.
With Van der Poel taking over the general classification from Philipsen, Philipsen was left wearing the green jersey on stage 3.
Canyon therefore gave Philipsen a green bike, but the sprinter crashed out of the race after a collision with Cofidis’ Bryan Coquard ahead of the intermediate sprint.
