“We ride in peace”: EF Pro Cycling reveals Giro d’Italia switch-out kit and collection

Alien Assos kit delivers a “signal from beyond”

EF Pro Cycling has revealed its switch-out kit for the 2026 Giro d’Italia, with an out-of-this-world theme promising a “signal from beyond”.

Every year, the WorldTour team trades its usual kit for a unique design to avoid clashing with the pink leader’s jersey of the Giro d’Italia, which gets underway on Friday 8 May.

Previous versions have varied from the conservative to the extreme, with the 2020 collaboration with Palace featuring a cartoon duck.

This year’s kit features an alien plastered across the chest, and on the back there is a UFO and an upside-down cow.

EF Pro Cycling parted ways with Rapha last year, with Rapha CEO Fran Millar saying the relationship “had gotten tired”. But the team’s new kit sponsor, Assos, has injected new extraterrestrial life into proceedings.

Assos CEO Edwin Navez said: “We believe innovation happens when you challenge conventions, both in how products perform and how they are expressed. Too often in this sport, performance and identity are treated separately. We don’t see it that way.

“With EF Pro Cycling, this is again about pushing both at the same time, engineering at the highest level, and a visual language that refuses to blend in.”

EF Pro Cycling says the design is an invitation: “We made contact… A signal. A message: We ride in peace. Do you? Join us."

In other words, the switch-out kit comes with a 'Space // Time' collection of jerseys and bib shorts you can buy. The collection is said to translate the campaign’s “cosmic narrative into technical equipment designed for the world’s most demanding stage race”.

It is available now in limited quantities.
