The Lloyds Tour of Britain Women gets underway this Wednesday and has attracted some star names from the competing 13 women’s WorldTour teams and five domestic teams, plus the Norwegian Hitec Products–Fluid Control UCI Continental team.
This year, the race has expanded from four to five stages and takes in the Great Orme finishing climb on stage 3 as well as a tough route through central Wales on stage 4, which packs in 2,227m of elevation gain over 138km.
Last year’s winner, Ally Wollaston of FDJ United-Suez, is back to defend her title, while SD Worx-Protime will field both 2024 winner Lotte Kopecky and 2026 Tour de France Femmes green jersey winner Lorena Wiebes.
Other riders to look out for include Kim Le Court Pienaar of AG Insurance-Soudal, winner of stage 6 at the Tour de France Femmes and both Bäckstedt sisters, Zoe for Canyon//SRAM and Elynor for UAE Team l’Imad.
