German bike brand Cube will open their first dedicated store in the UK on 2 November, BikeRadar can reveal.
The popular brand, which offers a broad range of mountain and road bikes, clothing and accessories will land in the north-east – in Durham – through a partnership with successful local shop Infinity Cycles.
Cube already has several similar stores in Germany and two in Switzerland, explained Job Deibel, head of marketing and communications. He said the brand's burgeoning popularity in the UK means that the time is now right to open a store and up the brand's profile.
"We're growing tremendously in the UK, and we feel this is the next step for the brand development and [to] show the full range of products we have, not just our bikes. Customers will enter the world of Cube," he added.
David Robinson, CEO of Infinity Cycles, revealed that 300 square metres would be dedicated to the brand. "Cube are now firmly established as one of the premier bicycle brands in the UK, and The Cube Store @ Infinity Cycles will showcase an extensive range of Cube bikes, clothing and accessories displayed in a distinctive Cube showroom," he said.
Cube, founded in 1993, unveiled its 2014 range at Eurobike in August.
As Cube makes an arrival in the UK, US brand Specialized will open an eighth Concept Store in Nottingham at the end of September. Further afield – in Cape Town, South Africa – Swift Carbon opened a concept store in mid-July.
