Gore Wear has teamed up with its most important ambassador, Olympic and world champion – and all-round cycling legend – Fabian Cancellara to launch a signature Cancellara Collection.
The custom line includes eight items split across three existing product collections. Gore says it took the “preferences and insight” of Cancellara to create the styling and apply it to products in the C7, C5 and C3 ranges.
The signature kit is centred around a heptagon shape, with its seven sides significant to Cancellara for a number of reasons: his total number of Spring Classics victories, his Tour de France Prologue win on 7/7/2007, and the shape of a cobblestone, the roughly paved secteurs of northern Europe being somewhere he excelled.
The heptagon is subtly printed on the products, as well as appearing on small details such as the zippers. Cancellara chose an orbit blue colour scheme throughout.
