Scott has unveiled its Voltage eRIDE electric mountain bike, featuring an integrated rear shock and TQ drive system.

The bike shares the same moniker as Scott’s dirt-jump bike, but features 155mm of rear travel, 5mm more than its non-assisted counterpart, the Genius.

As with Scott’s Lumen eRIDE, the Voltage features a TQ HPR50 electric bike motor and a 360Wh battery.

The Voltage eRIDE is an electric trail bike, with Scott saying it's aimed at all-mountain riding.

Six models will be available at launch, including two women-specific Contessa versions and one ‘hardcore’ Tuned model that features a Fox Float-X NUDE Factory rear shock.

The range starts at £6,099 / €6,599 for the Voltage eRIDE 920 and the Contessa Voltage eRIDE 910.

A top-of-the-range Voltage eRIDE 900 SL sits at the other end of the spectrum with a price of £11,899 / $12,999.99 / €12,999.

We were invited along to the launch of the new bike and had a chance to test it on the trails, so make sure to check out our Scott Voltage eRIDE 900 Tuned first ride review.

All models in the range use the same full-carbon fibre framesets made from Scott’s HMF composite, which is the brand’s second-tier modulus, sitting just below its super-lightweight HMX that's usually reserved for road bikes and cross-country bikes.

Scott claims the top-of-the-range Voltage eRIDE 900 SL tops the scales at 17.9kg with inner tubes.

At the centre of the frame is a TQ HPR50 motor, which pumps out 50Nm of torque and is connected to a 360Wh battery located in the down tube.

A 160Wh range extender can be attached to a plate on the seat tube should you wish to go for longer rides.

Sharing the bottom bracket area is the rear shock, which is hidden away using the brand's Integrated Suspension Technology.

Scott says combining the pedalling and suspension forces around the built-up bottom bracket area results in a stiffer rear end that aids cornering ability.

Centring the majority of the frame weight around the bottom bracket should also lower the bike's centre of gravity, making it easier to move it from side to side for cornering.

Scott claims hiding the shock away also protects it from debris and contaminants, extending servicing intervals.

The setup is similar to the one found on the smaller-travel Lumen eRIDE, though the brand says it has had to add a linkage extender to increase the suspension travel to 155mm.

As with its previous Integrated Suspension Technology bikes, Scott has worked alongside Fox, giving the Voltage eRIDE a Fox Nude 6T and the Voltage eRIDE Tuned a Fox Float-X NUDE Piggyback shock.

Scott’s Voltage eRIDE features TwinLoc, which enables you to control the ramp on both the fork and rear shock from the handlebar.

The more hardcore Voltage eRIDE Tuned version uses TracLoc, which only allows adjustment of the rear shock.

The bike is available with either a 150mm or 160mm fork, with the more expensive models featuring the latter.

Internal headset cable routing is used, and the bike features a built-in chain guide.

Scott’s Voltage eRIDE comes in four sizes, covering S to XL, and features an aggressive all-mountain geometry.

A slack head tube angle of 63.5 degrees is seen throughout the sizes, though this can be adjusted by 0.6 degrees using the Acros angle adjust headset.

The large-framed bike has a 485mm reach measurement and sees a relatively long chainstay length of 455mm.

The seat tube angle is relatively steep at 77.1 degrees, which should centre your weight and aid technical climbing.
