A video shows the moment an intruder was tackled by police at the Tour de France on yesterday’s stage 17.

Shared by Domestique on Instagram, the clip reveals how the man riding a bike across the finish line in Valence was shoulder-barged by a police officer after a Tour official tried to apprehend him.

The man is then seen lying on the ground before being dragged to the side of the course by officials.

The intruder jumped the barriers of the Tour de France just before the peloton was due to arrive and Jonathan Milan won his second stage of this year’s race.

French media reported that a 31-year-old from Montélimer, south of Valence, was arrested and taken into police custody following the incident.
