Vittoria has introduced a new 32in version of its Peyote XC tyres as part of the 2027 model-year collection, becoming the latest brand to back the emerging 32in-wheels craze in mountain biking and gravel.
Vittoria hasn't confirmed the new tyres' price, but it's likely to be the same as the existing 29in Peyote.
This is one of the first in a wave of 32in-compatible components on the horizon from manufacturers of gravel and mountain bike parts, with 32in bikes requiring different frames, forks, tyres and rims from bikes running 29in wheels.

Vittoria joins the 32in-wheel bandwagon

According to Jonathan Heasman, Vittoria recognised that, “A lot of the big bike brands are testing 32in mountain bikes and on gravel it makes a lot of sense”.
Heasman said: “Particularly in gravel, with ultra-distance, and lots of straight-lining, they're going to roll quicker, they're going to hold speed better, effectively get over small bumps and trail chatter quicker and smoother, it's going to be more comfortable.”

Asked which Vittoria tyres will be next to be expanded to 32in, Heasman said the most prevalent 32in-compatible bikes are XC race bikes and, “As it's a very race-focused product, it'll be a Mezcal next”.

Regarding the future of 32in wheels in MTB and gravel, Heasman said: ”It will be really interesting to see how it's going to develop.”
