Wahoo's new Apple Watch app will track all your cycling and running activities from your wrist

The app promises easy activity recording that will feed directly into your Wahoo training profile

Wahoo

Wahoo is expanding its app support to the Apple Watch, which it says enables riders and runners to use the watch to link up its training hardware and sensors, track workouts and follow its structured training plans.

Once completed, all activities will sync automatically to the Wahoo app platform. Wahoo says the new Wahoo Apple Watch app offers a simple entry point to the Wahoo training ecosystem and fills a missing link in users' training.

The new app enables riders to record their rides both indoors and outdoors on their watch and to link up their other data-capture devices, including a smart trainer, power meter, external heart rate monitor and more.

The Wahoo Apple Watch app will enable you to track your runs and rides.

The new Apple Watch integration will, later this year, enable Wahoo to feed its training readiness and recovery metrics, including sleep, resting heart rate and HRV data to the watch wearer.

There’s further support for runners and multi-sport athletes, with running performance against targets, interval alerts, and connectivity to the Wahoo Trackr heart rate monitor and Kickr Run treadmill.

The Wahoo app is compatible with Apple Watches running OS 11 or above. The data and analysis you’ll see depends on which of Wahoo’s three subscription tiers you’re on.

Basic ride-tracking and recovery functionality is available at no cost to all Wahoo app users.

If you’re paying for the Core tier, you’ll get additional training features, while subscribers to Wahoo’s Pro tier also get personalised training recommendations, along with access to Wahoo’s full workout library and its advanced planning tools.
