WTB supports high school mountain biking with the Galaxy Saddle

Celebrating the life of Buddy Newman and supporting high school mountain bike racing

Last December, Buddy Newman a graphic designer at WTB died in a car accident outside Nevada City, California. To honor the memory of one its own WTB has announced a limited run Galaxy Saddle featuring his artwork, with the proceeds going towards supporting high school mountain biking California.

The money raised will go on to help cover race fees for the Nevada Union Miners Mountain Bike team. Newman's father Eric is now the coach of the team and Newman attended Nevada Union High School and was a student athlete while he was there.

“Buddy's legacy lives on both from his countless acts of kindness that have touched everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him, as well as through his artwork you see on bikes all around the world with custom WTB graphics,” the brand said in a press release. “In honor of Buddy, all of us at WTB are very pleased to put one of his custom saddle designs into production, and provide an opportunity to support high school mountain bike racing through a scholarship fund made available through a partnership with the NorCal High School Cycling League.”

The WTB Galaxy saddle is a Team-level Volt saddle, features titanium rails and DNA Padding, and is available in a limited quantity of the 135mm width. Now available for purchase through WTB’s online store for a retail price of US$129.95.
