Wahoo and Komoot have added one-tap integration between the Komoot app and Wahoo cycling computers, making the transfer of routes from the desktop or smartphone planning app to an Elemnt cycling computer much easier.
The new functionality also enables in-ride modification of a route in Komoot’s app, with the change reflected immediately in the cycling computer.
There’s a new Navigate with Wahoo Fitness button in the Komoot app, which automatically transfers the route to your Wahoo device. The integration also enables you to use Komoot heatmaps, points of interest, surface type and other details when planning a route.

Komoot and Wahoo ambassador Lael Wilcox, who we spoke to recently at The Traka, will be using the new functionality on her Around the World record attempt.
“When you’re trying to ride around the world as fast as possible, every minute matters. Plans change constantly on a ride like that. Being able to quickly adjust a route and send it straight to your bike computer makes a big difference,” Wilcox says.
The change has been facilitated by Wahoo’s rationalisation of its software platform, which has seen it consolidate its data, which was previously distributed between the Elemnt device, Elemnt phone app and Wahoo’s servers, to a cloud-based model. This was rolled out first with the Elemnt Ace computer, then ported to the latest version 3 Elemnt Roam and Bolt models.
