Reading Jez's blog on the rubbish he has in his commuting bag got me thinking about the amount of swag I drag out on a Sunday ride...
Ever since the invention of the Camelbak in the mid '90s, I've been carrying more and more with me when I go riding- probably because I can. When I used to use a saddle bag, I would take just a tyre lever, tube, chain tool, mini pump and a couple of Allen keys- but it's quite a joke what I actually take riding now!
Park Multi-tool (featuring chain tool and T25 Torx driver)
Full size 8mm Allen key
Muc-off Dirty Wipes
Race Face knife
XTR crank pre-load tool
Topeak Shuttle tyre lever
Sony DSC-P200 compact camera
Oakley bag full of change
Tip Top puncture box with patches, glue, 2X C02 cartridges with adaptors and spare Shimano chain joining pins
Park instant patches
Kona leg warmers
Royal shell jacket
Spare riding gloves
Back-upz LED lights
Back in the day when I used to go riding with barely anything, not much went wrong-but these days I always end up being the team Dad on rides by fixing everyone else's bikes!
It's a good job then that I carry practically every tool known to mankind in my current pack then!
Does anyone carry anymore than me? I'm curious to know exactly what!
