Visibility is the name of the game with this weatherproof gilet from Proline.
The Proline fabric is a two-layer synthetic laminate that's windproof and rainproof. It's not waterproof as the seams aren't taped, but for a gilet, it's pretty weatherproof.
It's hefty, in part because it doesn't have a mesh back, although there is a vent between the shoulder blades. As it's intended for runners, rollerbladers and cyclists, it has a looser cut to reflect this.
There are three zipped pockets - two handwarmers and one smaller breast pocket, and the front zip has a storm flap. The main selling point is its colour and thick reflective stripes, making it highly visible.
Note that Proline are a French company that you'll have to order from directly. Online sales may be ready by the time you read this, or you can phone them.
