Charge Bikes Spoon saddle
BikeRadar verdict
"Comfortable and durable for very little cash? That'll be the Charge Spoon"
Who says comfort has to cost the earth? With the Spoon, British bike brand Charge, have created an underdog perch that adds up to much more than the sum of its parts while knocking the socks off other, significantly more expensive offerings.
Designed for cross-country and trail riding, the Spoon has a fairly minimalist, even understated design.
With a pressure-relieving channel, some reasonable curves and a luxurious leather upper, the shape is instantly comfortable and remained so through every trail eventuality and ride duration, whether we were right on the nose sniffing our way up steeps or dropping off the rear.
We found the slimline and lightweight padding the padding was somewhere between just right and a bit firm.
And even though it's not women-specific, our female tester who 'borrowed' it for the day refuses to give it back - underlining the fact that girls shouldn't confine themselves to trying female-only saddles to get the best fit.
The construction lacks the showy attention to detail that other premium saddles ooze, but this doesn't affect the performance. And the biggest shock is that it costs a paltry £20.
Charge have delivered a sure-fire winner on every level.
There’s a choice of colour and rail materials, depending on your style wishes and pocket depth.

User review of Charge Bikes Spoon saddle
Very good value, looks good (I got the Grey one with White rails) and is quite comfy. However the Red logo is already coming off after a few rides. It is also heavier and not as comfy as my old WTB Rocket V. For the money you can't knock it really but I'm now looking for a WTB Shadow for my road bike.
