$1,350, titanium, and made in the USA — two historic American brands collaborate on the ultimate bling bike upgrade

Moots and White Industries work with Brunk to design 420g crankset designed and manufactured in US for MTB and gravel riding

Three American companies have collaborated to offer a new titanium crankset for gravel and mountain bikes that’s designed and made in the US – and costs a whopping $1,350.

Moots and White Industries are well-known in the cycling world, but Brunk Industries is a newcomer, having specialised for more than 60 years in titanium forming for aerospace, medical and other applications.

White Industries was responsible for designing the cranks, precision finishing and ensuring their drivetrain compatibility, while Moots contributed its expertise in titanium welding and producing durable, robust titanium products, as well as the finishing details.

Moots contributed finishing details.

According to Alec White of White Industries: “This project shows what can happen when specialists collaborate. Brunk brought the vision and the forming expertise to make [the] cranks possible, and Moots brought decades of titanium welding experience from the bike world.

"It’s a rare opportunity to work alongside partners who share the same dedication to craftsmanship.”

The three companies highlight the new cranks’ all-American design and production, spread across their factories in Wisconsin, California and Colorado.

Both Moots and White Industries will market the new crankset.

The crankset is priced at $1,349 and available from both White Industries and Moots. A variety of configurations are on offer, designed for gravel and MTB use.

White Industries sells the cranks under the T30 name with multiple chainring interfaces and spindle diameters, and with 68mm or 73mm bottom-bracket shell widths.

Moots calls them Ti Cranks and offers an eight-bolt chainring interface and the same two bottom-bracket widths.

In both cases, there are 165mm, 170mm and 175mm crank lengths available, with a 420g claimed weight for the 165mm length.
