Gravel racing has enjoyed a stratospheric rise in popularity, with events such as Unbound garnering as much media and public attention as top WorldTour road races.

Increasing popularity has seen growing participation numbers, increasingly competitive fields and the proliferation of specialist gravel racing tech – as of 2022, gravel racing even has its own World Championships.

With all that in mind, we're pleased to bring you Gravel Racing Week on BikeRadar.

Over the next seven days, we'll be sharing buying advice for budding gravel racers, reviews from our expert testers and opinions from key voices.

We'll also hear where key figures think gravel racing is going next and outline how to prepare for your next event.

Fresh from his first ultra endurance gravel event, our own Oscar Huckle will put you off ever riding your own ultra, with tales of sleeping next to rubbish-filled huts, hallucinations and inflamed knees.

And who better to outline the history of Unbound – by far gravel racing's most important event – than former BikeRadar senior technical editor, Josh Patterson, who lined up to some of the very earliest editions of the race.
