Mission Control DH technology and Dual Flow damping circuits kept the 180mm-travel (7.1in) Totem working in an efficient manner and it remained consistent throughout some of the harshest of rides we could take it on, in true no-frills fashion.
The externally adjustable high and low speed compression dials are easy to use, accessible and, along with the externally adjustable beginning stroke rebound, make the fork easy to set up and tune for a ride.
The magnesium-cast legs with power bulges make for a stable ride at speed, giving dual crown forks a run for the money. And the progressive nature of the fork meant we weren’t worried about launching it at anything. At 2.7kg (5.9lb), it comes in at a competitive weight too.
However, it isn’t the most sensitive fork out there and there’s noticeable stiction thanks to the large surface and contact area. We did find the mid-stroke of the fork a little less active than the coil version too.
