Bradley Wiggins has capped a memorable year by recording a one-off BBC radio show special with his idol Paul Weller.

The Tour de France winner recently teamed up with the 'Modfather' for the BBC 6 Music show to be broadcast this Christmas. The pair were in the BBC's Salford studio to record the programme that will include the pair's favourite tracks and chat about their respective careers.

Head of programmes for 6 Music, James Stirling, said: “It's fantastic that two men who have excelled in their chosen fields can share their love of music on BBC Radio 6 Music.

“We've had a long relationship with Paul Weller and I know that Bradley and his team listened to 6 Music during this year's Tour de France. Their show will be a chance for them to reflect on their year and to play and discuss the tunes that have inspired them throughout their lives.”

Wiggins' love for music and fashion came to the fore this year, with his sideburns and mod haircut becoming the 32-year-old's trademark.

After picking up GQ magazine's Lifetime Achievement award from former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher earlier this year, the Londoner has apparently being lined up to host BBC2's music panel show Never Mind The Buzzcocks, according to the Manchester Evening News.
