Go 11.7% faster with the new, more aerodynamic Look 795 Light RS

Look has just announced the release of the 795 Light RS aero super bike and a new, ultra-light KEO blade carbon pedal.

Look 795 Light RS

The new 795 Light RS is said to be exactly 11.7% “more aerodynamic” than a Look 695. In real terms, Look claims that this adds up to a 1 minute and 14 second saving over a 100km track. No information regarding what speed these tests were carried out was supplied with the press release.

The bottom bracket has also been updated and is now made “entirely of carbon”. We’ll assume that Look has not pioneered some new carbon cartridge bearing technology and instead has employed a system similar to Trek’s BB90.

The bike uses Look’s updated E-POST 2 EVO seatpost that features a greater range of fore and aft adjustment than before alongside “heavy-duty clamping” and an “anti-vibration system”. We’ve often been critical of the poor ride quality and crappy seat clamps used on wedge-shaped seatposts, so we’re very keen to see how the new post performs.

The bike features a nifty, integrated front brake that can be adjusted via quick releases integrated into the new ADH2 cockpit. The new cockpit also features sections of 31.8mm diameter that are large enough to facilitate the fitting of clip on TT bars or lights.

The aesthetics of Look’s highly integrated designs continue to divide opinion, but we’re quite fond of how the new 795 Light RS looks (sorry).

Pricing for the bike starts at €5,699 with availability and international pricing yet to be confirmed.

Look KEO Blade carbon

Look’s pedals have long been renowned for their ridiculously low weight and the KEO Blade carbon looks set to cement this reputation, with the titanium version of the pedal weighing in at a paltry 95g.

The pedals are also claimed to be among the most aerodynamic on the market, owing to their slippery carbon base.
