Looking for something to do with the kids this weekend? How about introducing them to the delights of mountain bike racing in the Forest of Dean?

Last year, Mike Anstice put on a three series race for young ‘uns in the Forest of Dean. The races were short course, multi-lap affairs, which proved popular not only with the kids but parents too, as they could shout their support, making it an enjoyable experience for all and a brilliant introduction to mountain bike racing.

Building on the success of this series, Welsh Cycling has now joined forces with the race organizer to deliver an exciting, quality and fun series of nine races, on safe closed circuits, for the under-16s.

Round 1 kicks off this weekend on the March 2 at the Pedalabikeaway Cycle Centre, Forest of Dean. Categories are under-8, -10, -12, -14 and -16 with racing kicking off at 12.00 and entries starting from just £2.00. So pack in all the family bikes, pop over for the races and then spend the rest of the day exploring the great trails, a brilliant day out for all the family!
