Our review
Sugar-heavy and doesn’t satisfy hunger well but tasty and practical for early training

Fuel Your 10K Hours’ is designed to be an alternative to a solid breakfast, with less than one percent fat per helping. Each 330ml carton contains 20g of protein – from skimmed milk and soya protein – and 5g of fibre as well as vitamins A, B1, B6 and C, niacin and folic acid, all of which Fuel say helps support active lifestyles.

We tested the caramel latte flavour (the drink is also available in chocolate and strawberry) and found it to be really tasty, especially when chilled. The coffee content is only one percent so there’s not really a caffeine kick but there is 36.4g of sugar in each drink, which is comparable to a can of cola and gives a limited buzz and the inevitable crash a while later.

We found the drink less effective at satisfying hunger than solid food, but we were able to start training straight after getting it down, and at 297kcal it’s not a bad way to get some calories in before your morning session.
