With 2009 upon us, we are ever closer to getting hold of the new kit that has been waved under our noses over the past few months, but hasn’t yet been available. It is going to be a good year.

New Five10s

The shoe of choice for the discerning descender, thankfully the Stealth rubber sole is staying the same. The new Sam Hills look awesome, and the new model Karver, looks like it is going to be the one for wet and wild DH’ing. Rounding out the line up and putting smiles on our faces is the new Freerider shoe, which is like a Vans type skate shoe, but with a Five10 Stealth rubber sole. Yes Please!

Rockshox Boxxer

Bigger, better, badder. Rockshox have breathed some fresh life into the most winning-est fork of all time. With a completely new chassis and some really well thought out internals which are way more tuneable, we predict that this is going to be the DH fork of choice for 2009.

Fr-Fr-Fresh Togs

Clothing line up’s are the thing that has to change every year, and thankfully does. We are salivating at the new Maloja line up for ’09. Vibrant colours, bang up to date design and functional, what more could you want? Sombrio have gone a little more muted this season, and the new line up of very technical attire is going to suit the more reserved rider. Royal as always are an office favourite. Updated designs and shouty colours are all welcome, as well as their new and superbly designed glove range.

Fox DHX RC2 Shock

This really is going to be an exclusive one. Only 200 of these puppies are going to be made available, and will be the same shock that carried Gee and Rachel Atherton to their World Championship titles. With adjustments galore, its performance will only be outweighed by its exclusivity. Watch out for a feature on these in MBUK very soon, as we have a secret test lined up ‘in the Valleys’.

Trail Attack Marin

We have had a little play on the pre production Truvativ Hammerschmidt equipped Marin Attack Trail. We loved the way Marin were the first to build a bike around this new technology, two speed internal geared chainset. We just can’t wait for a production one to come our way so we can give it a damn good hiding, A certain tall, blond MBUK writer has one coming his way.
