Jump bikes and braces

It's all gone a bit wonky on deadline week...

The final count down to sending the mag to print is always a stressful and strange time. People drink too much coffee or energy juice and peculiar things start to happen.

An obscure ebay mix up resulted in Jamer and I rocking braces for a large part of yesterday and we were impressed by the results although I just looked like some sort of rubbish Irish extra from This Is England. Jamer however was slightly happier; "I loved my braces! I felt like Tommy Ball but a bit taller and without the tash!"

Trouser retention aids aside, I've been beavering away in the workshop today and with Collins Boy's help I've made a few tasty (and not so tasty) mods to my Specialized P1.

I love the P1 but it does have a bit of heft behind it so it's joining my Sunday on a weight-loss program! The seatpost and saddle have made way for a slammed Burgtec carbon post and my old Sunline V-One seat. Upfront though things had to change; the narrow high-rise bars and 35mm stem just felt too cramped. On went a new DMR Swarm stem and a pair of cut down Funn Full-On bars. Tidy.

The biggest change however comes in the shape of the new bouncers up front... Oh, and Collins' Scott Gambler's tractor sized front wheel but more on that in the next MBUK...
