Chris King and Santa Cruz are building on their longstanding partnership with a limited-edition Santa Cruz 5010 to commemorate Chris King’s 40th anniversary.

The olive king hubs feature 40th anniversary branding:

While King’s components rarely grace complete Santa Cruz bikes, the Santa Cruz Syndicate team has used King’s hubs and headsets for many years. The two companies have also collaborated on custom projects, such as the offset “Buzzworks” headset, which give Santa Cruz’ lanky racers a bit more reach on their V10s.

To celebrate King’s 40 years of precision manufacturing of bearings and other components, Santa Cruz has created a limited edition of the 5010 in an olive drab paint scheme with matching olive green King bling for the headset, hubs and bottom bracket.

Santa cruz is one of the few companies that has stuck with threaded bottom brackets on all its carbon mountain bike models:

The rest of the build reflects the high-end nature of this project. The anniversary edition 5010 comes with SRAM RSC Ultimate brakes, an XX1 drivetrain, a RockShox Pike fork and Reverb dropper, and a Fox Float DPS shock.

Claimed weight for the complete build is 26.8lb / 12.2kg.

Only 40 of these 5010s will be released:

In keeping with the 40th anniversary theme, only 40 of these limited edition 5010s will be released. Pricing is set at $8,999.
