Titanium specialist Moots has unveiled the latest addition to its Race Super Light (RSL) line up with the new Routt RSL. Designed to go anywhere, Moots says the new Routt RSL is most comfortable on broken, dirt and gravel roads, and rock strewn double track.

Moots Routt RSL what to expect
Incorporating 3D printed titanium dropouts with a flat mount disc brake mount, a 142x12 thru-axle and Moots’ RSL internally butted tube set, the Steamboat Springs based brand says it should make for a lightweight, stiff and durable frame. The Routt RSL also features a new Moots gravel/'cross full carbon fork with 12mm thru-axle, flat mount and recessed fender mounts.

As the new Routt RSL is meant for rough roads it's no surprise to see that the frame can handle up to 38c rubber, but we’re pleased to see a threaded bottom bracket shell too.
“We’re excited to add the Routt RSL to our squad of gravel bikes offering our customers a high performance mixed terrain model,” said Moots Marketing Manager, Jon Cariveau. “The Routt RSL’s longer top tube and lower front end place the rider in a more aggressive position, delivering a very precise handling ride.”
Available in seven sizes (50 up to 60), all angles, tube lengths, tube diameters and wall thicknesses are size-selected in an effort to create a uniform ride quality throughout the range. Looking at the size 55, the bike gets a 55.5 cm top tube, 72.5-degree head angle and long 423mm chainstays. All up, this should make for a bike with responsive handling that also retains a bit of stability when the road gets rougher than grizzly bears behind.
As with every Moots frame, the new Routt RSL will be hand built at the brand's Steamboat Springs base. The frame can also be upgraded with electronic internal routing, wireless shift routing, an engraved head tube, polished logos, colour decals, pump peg, chain hanger, third water bottle mount, custom sizing, 1cm head tube length — the sky's the limit.
Moots Routt RSL pricing and availability
Like all Moots bikes, the Routt RSL comes with a lifetime warranty and if this new Ti steed tips your fancy, hopefully you’re piggy bank is full because the complete bike, as pictured, will set you back $10,059. The Routt RSL is also available as a frameset though pricing is still to be announced, and at the time of writing Australian and UK pricing had not yet been published.
