If you needed reminding of the booming gravel scene, and the increasing specialisation of products that brings, Silca has launched its first gravel-specific mini-pump.

Taking cues from Silca’s Tattico road mini-pump, the Gravelero is an all-aluminium mini-pump, forgoing the use of plastic. In the past, Silca has said the use of metal avoids any issue with plastic overheating while inflating a tyre, before the maximum pressure is reached.

Like the Tattico, the hose is retractable to allow for easier inflation at tight angles. In its closed form, the pump is said to be 243mm in length.

The pump uses the brand’s tried-and-tested thumb-lock, reversible chuck. Silca claims the Gravelero pushes 35 per cent more air for the same overall length, compared to the Tattico.

Silca says the design has been further refined for gravel and off-road use with a smoother outer texture, to make for easy cleaning. The sealing is also said to be improved to protect the pump against dirt and mud.

Silca claims the pump weighs 139g and can reach a maximum pressure of 80psi, more than enough for gravel bike tyres.

The pump includes a direct-mount bracket with retaining strap to mount onto the bottle cage bolts.

The Gravelero mini-pump will retail for £70 / $75 / €90 and is available now.
