A new space saving indoor bike and bits rack has been launched to tidy cycles out of small city flat hallways.

Or, if the bike's fancy enough, turn it into a decorative feature.

The Bike Shelf – which accommodates a bike, helmet and other paraphernalia such as locks and tools – was designed by London-based Cyclehoop, perhaps best known for its funky public cycle storage such as the new bike park at Paddington train station.

The wall-mounted shelf is constructed of powder coated steel with a lining where the frame sits to prevent scratches. It also has an option for locking bikes to the bracket, making it suitable for solid garages or sheds – a frequent target for bike thieves.

Its dimensions mean it will accommodate most road bikes – even kids' bikes – with a top tube length down to 50cm and handlebars that are less than 60cm centre to centre.

The Cyclehoop Bike Shelf weighs a sturdy 6-7kg meaning users will need to find a suitably robust wall on which to mount the unit. It comes in white, dark grey or orange.

The Bike Shelf is available on online at Cyclehoop and costs £82.50.
