Functionality-wise there are no differences between the needs of men and women when it comes to heart rate monitors. But with smaller wrists it’s nice for ladies to have a smaller watch unit and more feminine styling.
We’ve had many positive comments about the Polar FT7's looks, and we were happy to wear it even off the bike. The menu system is pretty intuitive, but we’d prefer the buttons to be a little more positive, and we liked the large display, which allowed us to easily see our heart rate.
Other features include an average heart rate calculator and a graphical target zone indicator.
