Easy-to-use little snapper that shrugs off abuse with ease

Casio seem pretty proud to announce that the EX-G1 is the world’s slimmest shock-resistant camera, which should make it ideal for taking with you on rides.

It's definitely skinny; it’s a gnat’s ball under 20mm thin in fact, yet packs a 12.1-megapixel punch. It’s drop-proof to 2.13m (7ft), can handle temperatures down to -10°C and safely be dunked in up to 3m (10ft) of water for up to an hour.

It genuinely doesn’t mind a good real-world battering either. You’ll need to take your gloves off to use it, but the menus are all pretty intuitive and the controls are sturdy.

Disappointingly, the shortest interval shot mode was 10 seconds – a bit lengthy for action sequence shots. There is a handy Best Shot mode for different circumstances such as ‘snow’ but we found the best results were achieved by manually adjusting the camera.
