Our review
Weird beam and bar-only mount but convenient design with decent power

German brand Supernova always create interesting stuff and the new self-contained Airstream is no exception. They use a unique multi-faceted, multi-cell, hollow centre lens in front of a single LED.

This produces a beam that’s best described as a curved moustache shape, with a vaguely lit beard underneath. This actually gives decent coverage on the near sides of the trail and a few metres in front of the wheel.

A lot of random dark patches mean it’s tricky to pick out technical detail though, and the light’s not helmet mountable. Otherwise the O-ring mounted unit is very neat, with a battery indicator light next to the on switch and backlit Supernova logos on the side.
