Hincapie Tour Lightweight Vest gilet review£70.00

Brilliant performer

BikeRadar score4.5/5

Like Big George himself, the Hincapie Tour Lightweight Vest gilet is a class act. It’s very smart, and totally windproof and waterproof at the front. The fit is great, plus it manages to feel light and doesn’t flap about on descents.

There are two loose pockets at the back, each with reflective details, and you can stuff the gilet into either of these to make it easier to carry in a jersey pocket. But it’s worth bearing in mind that it doesn’t pack small or fasten.

The collar is snug when zipped right up, but not restrictive. Undo it on climbs to benefit from the vented mesh back

Rides fast everywhere, all the time. Jamie started riding age 12, first on mountain bikes, progressing through cross-country and downhill racing (followed by motorcycle road racing and a dark time as a runner). A dedicated roadie since 2007, Jamie has dabbled in road racing, crits and time trials, but has the most fun simply riding hard with a couple of friends, chasing daft average speeds. Needless to say, Jamie values pure performance above all else and loves aero kit. Fiercely honest in his reviews. Has a chain-cleaning fetish.
