Mini review: Santini ICE Windtex Klear gilet review£49.95

Most of us certainly wouldn’t want to wear one of these with nothing on underneath, but if you want to show off your favourite jersey while simultaneously getting an extra layer of warmth, or you don’t want to cover up your race number, Santini’s Klear gilet does the job.

It also comes with its own little stuff-sack so you won’t lose it in the bottom of your backpack or pannier. But seeing as this is nearly £20 more than DHB’s similar Windtex gilet, we’re not convinced it’s great value for money.

Simon has been cycling for as long as he can remember, and more seriously since his time at university in the Dark Ages (the 1980s). This has taken in time trialling, duathlon and triathlon and he has toured extensively in Asia and Australasia, including riding solo 2900km from Cairns to Melbourne. He now mainly rides as a long-distance commuter and leisure/fitness rider. He has been testing bikes and working for Cycling Plus in various capacities for nearly 20 years.
