Altura Velocity review

Altura have a great new range of sub-£100 coats this winter and the ultra light Velocity really scores on the weather/ wallet balance. The lightweight fabric is better specced than most at this price.

Outstanding lightweight performance shell at a pocket-friendly price and size

Altura have a great new range of sub- £100 coats this winter and the ultra light Velocity really scores on the weather/ wallet balance.

The lightweight fabric is better specced than most at this price and you notice it as your work rate ramps up. Loose elasticated cuffs allow the sleeves to pull up, making up for a lack of vents. It's totally waterproof, with a tall neck and dropped tail.

There's only one chest pocket, but all zips are weatherproof and there are plenty of reflective shoulder/back prints for safety. Not a natural 'civvy', but a super low pack size and weight (226g) make it perfect for those who want a simple shell that can live in your pack.
