The only thing we like more than a lightweight, well-cut wind and showerproof jacket is one we can zip the arms off and wear as a gilet. Unfortunately, there aren't many of these around so the Vagabond has the market almost to itself.
This good-looking jacket uses Pearl's Zephrr material, which is extremely light and thin although it still does a great job of stopping water (a shower, anyway - a proper downpour will overwhelm the fabric) and wind from penetrating. The cut of the jacket/gilet is excellent - it's closer than on previous incarnations so there's less flapping material to slow you down on windy days and the back features a storm vent to help the already highly breathable material do its job. Add in the fleece-lined neck, well finished sleeve cuffs, reflective piping and handy chest pocket and you're good to go in all but very wet conditions.
The Vagabond punches above its weight and its combination of good looks and versatility means it should fast become one of your favourite bike garments.
