Showers Pass Touring waterproof jacket review£115.00

Commuter jacket with lots of features

BikeRadar score4/5

This fully-taped commuter jacket features a spacious cut for fit over street clothes, and a kitchen sink of features. A full-width rear vent lets the sweat out and for big efforts there are huge armpit zips that instantly cool you down.

The back is extremely long thanks to a hidden drop tail so it keeps your bum dry, all the exposed zips are waterproof and plenty of reflective piping keeps you visible.

Showers Pass admit that Aertex isn’t as breathable as more expensive fabrics but the ventilation options compensate. Side and chest pockets are handy, and there’s even a port for your iPod earphones.

Simon has been cycling for as long as he can remember, and more seriously since his time at university in the Dark Ages (the 1980s). This has taken in time trialling, duathlon and triathlon and he has toured extensively in Asia and Australasia, including riding solo 2900km from Cairns to Melbourne. He now mainly rides as a long-distance commuter and leisure/fitness rider. He has been testing bikes and working for Cycling Plus in various capacities for nearly 20 years.
