Our review
Extra-thick Neoprene will keep your feet warm in the worst conditions

These overshoes from Shimano offshoot PRO have a 3mm-thick layer of Neoprene for extra warmth and durability.

They kept our feet toasty warm even on snowy commutes, effectively sealing them off from the wind and rain.

The stretchy material hugs the contours of your shoes, and a PU coating gives good water resistance, while still retaining some breathability.

Sealed seams also help keep water at bay, while Kevlar patches on the nose, side and heel protect against scuffs, and the anti-bacterial bamboo charcoal fleece lining adds a bit of extra insulation.

The overshoes have been designed for mountain biking and commuting use, so they have a large open area on the sole which is compatible with various cleat/pedal configurations.

They're kept in place by a single Velcro-style hook-and-loop strap across the sole, while a zip and another hook-and-loop closure at the top make them a cinch to get into – as long as you remember to slide them onto your legs before donning your shoes.

They're not the cheapest, but if you do a lot of winter riding they're worth the investment. Reflective stripes on the side and a reflective tab at the rear help you to be seen at night.

All in all, a fantastic pair of winter overshoes, but for warmer months you'll need a thinner pair to avoid that 'boil in the bag' feeling.

Also look at: For spring and autumn, PRO's Endure H2O overshoe shares many of the features of the NPU but without the extra-thick Neoprene.
