Our review
Short and hard-wearing baggy shorts that feature a cool and comfortable liner

Specialized’s Enduro baggies have been around for a while and haven’t changed much, with good reason. While the nylon outer fabric feels on the light side, it stands up to plenty of trail abuse. A high degree of stretch makes for a great fit and with a skimpy 9.5in inseam on the size medium tested, they’re perfect for more petite riders.

Twin poppers and a zip fly keep them up, while tape volume adjusters further refine sizing, though the plastic buckles can conflict with hydration pack waist belts. Storage space is kept to a bare minimum and while we welcomed being forced to pack light by the single rear and thigh pockets, it might limit you if you regularly travel packless.

The pad in the removable liner is single-density foam in varying thicknesses. This gives you more comfort in the areas that bear the brunt of pedalling (primarily underneath sit bones) while minimising bulk. Stretch mesh is cool and comfy, and a logo’d-up waistband livens up the otherwise plain styling. The highly impractical washing instructions state machine wash cold only, but we’ve had no trouble sticking them through on 40 degrees with the rest of our riding gear.
