Mavic HC bib short review£120.00

Designed for long rides on warm days

BikeRadar score4/5

The HC shorts feature Mavic’s 3D endurance pad, a multi-density design which fits perfectly around your sit bones. It’s channelled too, which keeps things dry and comfortable.

The main structure is a mix of highly elastic Lycra Power, which holds and supports well, with the breathable weave of the white detailing giving a constant airflow that’s great on warm rides but chilling on cooler days. Because these shorts are designed as endurance bibs, it’s good to see the inclusion of a zip fly for ‘comfort’ breaks. Sizing is spot on.

Simon has been cycling for as long as he can remember, and more seriously since his time at university in the Dark Ages (the 1980s). This has taken in time trialling, duathlon and triathlon and he has toured extensively in Asia and Australasia, including riding solo 2900km from Cairns to Melbourne. He now mainly rides as a long-distance commuter and leisure/fitness rider. He has been testing bikes and working for Cycling Plus in various capacities for nearly 20 years.
