Shimano Tiagra BR-4500 Brake Callipers review

These dual-pivot brakes have been redesigned from the ground up and thanks to a finer finish they look far more expensive than the BR-4400 version that they replace.

These dual-pivot brakes have been redesigned from the ground up and thanks to a finer finish they look far more expensive than the BR-4400 version that they replace. The arms have a new, more arched shape and they are deeper in section for greater stiffness. While they are better than the outgoing version, we noted an improvement in absolute stopping power by fitting aftermarket Fibrax brake blocks. The only criticism would be that the cable adjusters could have been a little easier to turn.
