Bontrager Race Lite Aero Bar review£69.99

Simple aluminium clip-ons

BikeRadar score3/5

The aluminium clip-ons are pretty basic but they do a reasonable job. We found the S-bend extension had just the right amount of rise for a comfortable long-ride hand position and there’s plenty of scope to alter the reach.

You can move the armrests forward and back independently, angle them, and you get four different width positions too. The armrest plates don’t curve much, which led to our forearms creeping sideways, but on the plus side they absorb the impact of bumps well, so you don’t feel the need to shift your hands to the base bar when things get rough.

The simple foam pads look low rent but they’re comfortable enough and they don’t get slippery when you sweat. You can run your gear cables inside and out through the back where little rubber plugs hold them in place. These fit 31.8mm bars or 26mm with the included shims.
