This is a quality aluminium stem, wrapped in 3k carbon and given a carbon cap. It’s 12g heavier and £60 more than ITM’s excellent Alutech stem, but it’s plenty stiff enough and well made with close tolerances and neatly finished clamps.
Not everyone will like the extensively shaped top sections of the bar, but most of the shaping is on the front where your fingers go, not the rear where your palms sit, and we got along fine. The classic bend drops give easy transition and plenty of hand positions, and the bar is stiff enough, though lacking a little comfort.
