Distinctively shaped performance saddle at a reasonable price

The Turnix, from Shimano-owned component brand PRO, appears to be very long, but it’s a bit of an optical illusion – it’s actually quite narrow, which is what makes it look longer. The ‘TU’ means ‘Tail Up’ and refers to the kicked-up rear that gives you something to push against when you’re mashing the pedals. If that doesn’t fit your riding style, there’s also a non-TU version available.

Hollow titanium rails contribute to the Turnix’s low weight, and they’re notably long for plenty of adjustment. The padding is thin and firm at the back. It’s a little more yielding in the middle and along the nose, although this is still a saddle for the more hardened of buttock, particularly as there are reinforcement ribs to stiffen the shell.
